Alice In Wonderland: Revamped!
I have been anticipating the newest version of "Alice In Wonderland” to come out for quite some time now. Even though the movie completely creeped me out as a kid (I think it was the cat), as an adult, I am dying to see Johnny Depp and Tim Burton work together again. Of course, another huge reason I want to see it is the makeup and wardrobe…can you say pixielicious!! If only I could have been on set just for that reason! *sigh*
February 25th brought out Hollywood for the premier of “Alice In Wonderland” in London amongst torrential downpours. Now, keep in mind, this is a movie premier of a very imaginative tale told by the creatively twisted Tim Burton, so the fashion will have some glam, some wacky, and some plain ole’ mad hatters.
Let’s start with the man of the hour himself, Mr. Depp….yummy..I mean smokin’. His choice of a black suit, open collared shirt, and his trademark glasses were all spot on. Bravo. Anne Hathaway looked elegant in her bronze sequined strapless gown, although I really didn’t like the top…it looked like it was un-done. Avril Levign showed up looking…well grown up. Who knew? She was wearing a sleek black gown with a stunning jeweled neckpiece. She kept the eye makeup her traditional punky style, I’m sure as to not throw us into complete shock at the transformation. The wtf award goes to Daisy Lowe…I’m not sure what to say other than, Huh?
For the kooky and fun, my mad hatter award goes to Paloma Faith. The metallic gold dress with the crazy hat, the shoes, it was all just fabulously eccentric! Helena Bonham Carter looked like a hot mess but in a fun, appropriate manner for her hubby’s premier. And last, but not least, I really thought the up and coming Australian actress Mia Wasikowska looked beautiful in her Valentino Couture ball gown. I love the black lace on nude detail on top of a billowing skirt. She just looked youthful and vibrant stepping out of a fantasy wonderland. (of course I’m partial to the pixie cut!).
Xoxo
